I'm transfemme, but because I'm still in part seen as a man, this decision is more respected. Femininity is still seen as the beauty standard. I am fetishised, yes.
But transmascs are confronted with the perception that they are still, somehow, women. Which means their decision is, somehow, ultimately less valuable than those of "men" (referring to cisgender men, in this case). They are choosing to go away from the established beauty norms, and face criticism because of it.
I believe transmascs get discriminated against due to instutionalised misogyny.
