FOSSIdeology is the weakest part of free software, if we truly value it we should seek out where it is most practical.
Because in this day and age it IS the more practical approach so long as we take those needs seriously.
The endless pursuit of capital has muddled existing solutions to a point of frustration.
FOSS is lacking in many areas but I believe it to be extremely resilient to this.
Don't push, guide. If we want revolutionary change it must be guided there not forced. Things should show familiarity even if at it's core it is ultimately new.
@privateger the first lesson we learned on play testing in both of my studies was to remember that the we (probably) shouldn't implement the suggestions of the testers.
After all they aren't the designers, listing to why they suggest what they suggest rather than what.
