I like Pikmin 2 quite a bit more than Pikmin 3. I still like Pikmin 3 for sure, it is not a bad game, but I find the aspects it emphasizes on are less of the aspects that I really like about Pikmin (atmosphere, exploration, flavor, the feeling of being a tiny guy in a huge world filled with apex predators, the low-key horror).
Pikmin 4 is still in my opinion the best pikmin game, even having had some time now for 'new game excitement' to cooldown, though Pikmin 2 is still my favourite personally. Sure the combat is less challenging, but Pikmin 2 and 3 also have very overpowered things that make combat way easier, and I think the point is challenging yourself as much as you wish, choosing what you want to accomplish and determining your own limits.
I still have to play Pikmin 1, it seems like I would really like it, now it is on Switch I should get around to it.

I think we can all agree Louie is the best Nintendo character of all time in any case, besides Mr. L because he is epic.
