I don't think I feel a greater disconnect from any other human being than people who list their hobbies on dating apps as "Food and travel".
Especially food.
(Also people often say when they see someone who doesn't like food "Oh I bet your mom cooks bad / I bet your family is all like that". If you think that for me, you'd be wrong because my entire family is the exact polar opposite of me, they fucking love food, and you would be right that that's a big part of the reason I don't like food)
After so many days, I am finally playing Deltarune chapter 3. Starting from the beginning was worth it though to build anticipation.
So far, it is reinvigorating my love of Deltarune, and honestly videogames in general. I haven't been this excited in a long while. I needed this. I love videogames so much, and ironically all the stress of doing a game design study makes me forget it, which makes doing a Game Design study harder.
I think in the future I should make time to play games, even when I am really stressed or busy with study. I forgot how much this excitement carries me forwards
I have not processed the fact Deltarune is coming in like 1-2 days. I have deadlines to work on!!!!!! Don't crucify me for saying this but I honestly wish it came out a month later, so I could just lock in to play it in peace, and not have to wait like a week and be terrified of spoilers.
Like I think from tomorrow onwards I am gonna have to not go on Youtube at all for a week or two, and I'm sure I'll still get hit by a stray spoiler anyways
A little insight into my life: I put a dog and gaming controller sticker in a bathroom in my school sometime ago, and then someone else wrote "Gamer dog" under it, so I think that is really cool
Are you ready for a STEAMING HOT TAKE? Watch out, this one might get CONTROVERSIAL! ONLY proceed if you are ready to get your mind blown!!!!
WATCH OUT!!!!
I like Pikmin 2 quite a bit more than Pikmin 3. I still like Pikmin 3 for sure, it is not a bad game, but I find the aspects it emphasizes on are less of the aspects that I really like about Pikmin (atmosphere, exploration, flavor, the feeling of being a tiny guy in a huge world filled with apex predators, the low-key horror). Pikmin 4 is still in my opinion the best pikmin game, even having had some time now for 'new game excitement' to cooldown, though Pikmin 2 is still my favourite personally. Sure the combat is less challenging, but Pikmin 2 and 3 also have very overpowered things that make combat way easier, and I think the point is challenging yourself as much as you wish, choosing what you want to accomplish and determining your own limits. I still have to play Pikmin 1, it seems like I would really like it, now it is on Switch I should get around to it.
I think we can all agree Louie is the best Nintendo character of all time in any case, besides Mr. L because he is epic.
On topic of things I kinda hate on the internet that somehow refuse to die:
Youtube thumbnails showing a fake Discord/Twitter exchange.
I don't know if I like the ones where the exchange is with a supposed account for "youtube" or "nintendo" better or worse, since at least it feels less deceptive
Fun fact: Growing up I thought that the giraffe from Madagascar was a woman (I'm pretty sure he was voiced by a woman in the Spanish dub?), so I thought that the giraffe and the hippo were a bisexual - lesbian couple in the second movie, and didn't think anything more of it. That would have been so much cooler.
I only follow a couple friends on here, and a couple people they follow. Based on all the posts I see from them and from people they boost, I have the impression that 99% of people here are transfem computer scientists, 0.5% are nonbinary people who studied computer science but quit to do game design instead (me), and 0.5% is the one of my friends here who is not transfem.
