A friend on bluesky who has a much bigger following reposts my post so it gets liked by a few cool people so I'm like "I finally made it big babey, 20 likes on bluesky lets fucking go"
Also my internship supervisor liked a post I made during my internship hours, about a mistake I made during my internship work so, there is that also
I made the classic game designer mistake today of not considering "What if the player does literally anything except click on the thing I want them to click then do absolutely nothing else". The free will pitfall, always tricky.
Remembering the whole Toby Fox translation controversy and wanting to find someone who isn't extremely unnuanced about it.
Personally I understand not wanting to do the translation for Deltarune currently while it is in development if he wants to be so involved with it, but the fact Undertale has never been localized into anything other than Japanese I do take an issue with. I cannot think of a single other game period that has as big of a profile as Undertale that is only localized to 2 languages like that.
If Disco Elysium can be translated into so many languages, Undertale can be too.
(I also don't really hold up much hope that he's gonna localize Deltarune to more languages after it is fully done either, seeing again how in over 10 years he never did so with Undertale except to Japanese just because he personally wanted to have it in Japanese. I understand it is his personal choice and in his right, but then it is also in my own right to judge him for it)
I'm back to messing with window nodes in Godot, and I just found out there is a function to make your computer make the default "beep" (in the case of windows it is that annoying sound that players when you try to do something and it fails).
Gen AI and everything it's done in the last few years has really made me rethink my "Technology is neutral on its own, it's only bad in the way it is used" opinion.
Like, yeah I still think technology is neutral in a vacuum, but considering we don't live in a vacuum and never will, that technology will always have to exist in our real world full of politics, incentives, and bad people, maybe a technology can just be bad/evil because it can never not be in the world we live in that is run by evil people.
(also damn I need to learn to write shorter sentences)
Me when I am being distracted in a meeting and I am looking stuff up, but someone is looking at my screen so I wanna make sure it is entertaining for them as well: "Mhm where are my quality distractions..."
I need to write a thing and now writing suddenly got hard and it is blocking me from everything else and I am a week late on thisaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
